The 53rd all new Fair One Film fare Awards was held at the Yash Raj studios from the Saturday night till the late wee hours of Sunday. The leading bollywood actors and actresses attended the ceremony. There were many awards including ‘the best film award’, ‘the best actor award’, ‘the best actress award’, ‘the best director award’, ‘lifetime achievement award’, ‘best supporting actor award’, ‘best supporting actress award’, ‘best male singer award’ and ‘best female singer award’. Separate awards were given to ‘fresh face of the year’, ‘best music of the year’ and also ‘best screenplay award’. The extra color to the ceremony was added by the presence of Sharukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. The beautiful personalities of the bollywood walked the red carpet into the fuction.

BEST DIRECTOR:

The film fare best director award was bagged by the ultimate superstar Aamir Khan for his movie 'Tare Zameen par'. The nominees for the same were Anurag Basu, Farah Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Mani Ratnam and Shimit Amin for the movies 'Life....in a metro', 'Om shanti Om', 'jab we met', 'guru' and 'chak de india' respectively. 'The best film award' was bagged by 'Tare Zameen Par'.

BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESSES:

The best actor award was given to Sharukh Khan for the movie 'Chak de India' which was his seventh award and also one less than Dilip Kumar who got eight awards at the same fuction. The best actress award was given to Kareena Kapoor for the movie 'Jab we met'. She acted with her ex-boy friend Shahid Kapoor in this movie.

CRITICS' AWARDS:

The notable movie in the function was 'Chak de India' which won the critics' best movie award which was directed by Shimit Amin. The same movie won the best cinematography award. The critics' best actress award was given to Tabu for the movie 'Cheeni kum' and the best actor award was given to the child artist Darsheel Safari for the movie 'Taare Zameen Par'who is just 11 years old and gave a speech before SRK. The crowd bursted to noise when Saif carried him away in his shoulders.

LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:

Rishi Kapoor got the standing applause among the crowd when the award was announced. He got the award from Dimple Kapadia accompanied with his wife Neetu Kapoor. He dedicated the award for his wife and his grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor.

BEST DEBUTANT AWARD:

Ranbir won the best male debutant award and also the ceremony was entirely entertained by him later. The best female debutant award was given to Deepika Padukone for the movie 'Om shanti om'.

SUPPORTING ACTORS AND ACTRESSES:

Irrfan Khan got the best supporting actor award for the movie 'Life in a metro' and Konkana Sen Sharma won the best female supporting actress award for the same movie.

BEST MUSIC AND BEST BACKGROUND:

The award was given to A.R.Rahman as expected for the film 'Guru'

BEST SINGERS AWARD:

The best male singer award was given to While Shaan(Jabse tere naina) for the movie 'saawariya' and the best female singer award was given to Shreya Goshal(Barso re) for the movie 'Guru'.

BEST LYRICS AWARD:

Prasoon Joshi won the award for the movie 'Tare Zameen Par'.

BEST STORY AND SCREENPLAY AWARD:

Amol Gupte and Anurag Basu won the titles of best story award and best screenplay award for the movies 'Tare Zameen Par' and 'Life in metro' respectively. Imtiaz Ali was given the best dialogue award for the movie 'Jab we met'.

FRESH FACE OF THE YEAR:

The title was grabbed by Deepika Padukone for the movie 'Om shanthi om'.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

There was a cheer among the cousins of Kapoor Ranbir, Riddhima, Kareena and Karisma as a bond of love. The were shows performed by Akshay kumar, Vivek Oberoy, Himesh and Kareena. Karan and Vidya Balan had a tough time to make SRK and Saif to come up the stage. There was no sight of the Bachchan family.
