Cute, Bubbly, talkative, name it and she has it.Preity zinta was born on January 31st, 1975 in Himachal Pradesh. Destiny had to get her to Bollywood as Zinta, Preity love for helping her friend landed her into the entertainment industry. She had assisted a friend for an audition and she was asked to audition along with her friend. What followed gave Bollywood one of its finest actresses ever. With her first ever movie audition selection, Zinta, Preity love for acting had just begun. The movie, she was meant to debut in, never took off. Instead her name was recommended to Mani Ratnam for his movie Dil Se. Her performance was so widely acclaimed that she won the Filmfare best debut award.

The simple Rajput girl had a strong career planned out for her. She initially planned to do her English honors but Zinta, Preity love for criminal psychology made her pursue the field. Preity Zinta soon began her career after finishing her psychology course from St.Bedes College in the modeling industry and even appeared in several commercials. But her life wasn’t the same as a child. She lost her father at the age of 13 and her mother was bedridden for 2 years after a fateful accident. But that didn’t pull this girl down and she came up successful.

After her debut movie in 1998 she had her next hit with soldier. Zinta, Preity love for experimenting with roles was seen as she signed two telugu films also which were remakes of Hindi movies. She was doing pretty well as a newcomer and then came a major hit in the form of Kya kehna in 2000.It took the audiences by storm and she was appreciated by the critics for her commendable acting talent. Her big hits included Mission Kashmir which was the third highest grossing film of the year and Dil Chahta Hai which entered into the top five highest grossing films of the year. Although the film Dil Hai Tumhaara did not do well at the box office, her role as an adopted daughter was appreciated and she became sought-after by some of the biggest filmmakers in the following years.

They say success comes to you but with a price, which happened to be right for Preity. It wasn’t just her acting career but Zinta, Preity love life too became a victim of rumors. Controversies started to circle her. Even though Preity was seeing Ness wadia, Suchitra Krishnamurthy accused her of having an affair with her husband Shekhar Kapur and thus leading to their divorce. She even landed up as a witness in an Underworld trial where she received threatening calls while shooting for a movie. She has been dating Ness Wadia since February 2005.Rumors of her having a tiff with Ness’s mother surfaced but she just brushed it off.

Little did trouble spare her where she went, Zinta, Preity love for outbound performances cost her lot more than she could expect. Narrowly escaped death twice. Once with the Indian ocean Tsunami and the other when there was an explosion at one of her concerts, Temptations in Colombo.

A side of Preity, popular among the rural and underdeveloped India was Zinta, Preity love for social service. Preity performed at the ‘HELP! Telethon Concert’ to raise money for the victims of the Indian Ocean Earthquake in 2004. She participated in a blood donation camp organized by the Rotary Club of Delhi in association with Godfrey Philips Bravery Awards and donated blood. Apart from it, Zinta, Preity love for supporting women empowerment for Godfrey Philips came into light. She even donated her prize money in Kaun Baneega Crorepati to the Shimla Red Cross society.
