Revathy who is an actress by profession became a director in the recent past. She had confessed to the media openly that she is not a feminist though her movies intend to be so. Her both the films, 'Mitr, My Friend' and 'Phir Milenge' had a content based on women and were more approachable to women. She says that it was natural and it was never done with any intension. As she is a women herself, she could understand the situations more easily than any other person could do. But she refuses that she is a feminist by nature.

Revathy explained that "Mitr" was specially made film to thank her mother and was a dedication done not only to her mother but to all the mothers who take care of their families. In the same manner 'Phir Milenge' was made to eliminate discrimination for women affected with HIV, which makes a lot of mental harassment.

CavinKare Ability Awards 2007-2008: -

Revathy was present for the CavinKare Ability Awards 2007-2008. She made an interesting interview with the IANS. She was questioned if women as role of heroine were doing much more than the glamorous part by dancing in the rain and under the trees alone. She boldly replied that for the past few decades’ heroines were given glamorous roles than being so decorative.

Revathy also stated that when a movie is called a commercial one it means the heroine has played a very glamorous role in the film and of course who else apart from the heroine can perform that role and bring that effect? If the story requires the scene then it essential that heroine should be glamorous.

Revathy feels that it is the expectation of the audience which make the film makers to bring it to the screens. Revathy confessed that there is no wrong for men to take care to look good and according to her physicality in men can also be maintained and it is of no wrong in doing so. She supports men as heroes doing item numbers and said that there is good physicality in men and it should be enjoyed.

As an actress Revathy started her career in the film "Pudumai Penn" and also got the national award for the movie "Dhoop" in which she performed a brilliant role. Last but not the least Revathy made a perfect role in the movie "Nishabd". Though the film did not have good collections, her role was appreciated by the mass.

Revathy said that she was not looking forward for any kind of particular role but would take up unusual performances. She also stated that she will not act any more and audience cannot see her in screens. But she will be prepared to give either one or two films in the upcoming years.

When one of the artist questioned about her career she answered to it by saying that she had a lot of job to be completed on time. She also stated that she would start her directing work by the next year though the subject has not been yet decided.
